Sisaret!

Sisaret is the Finnish word for sisters. This print is dedicated to Esa’s late mother and all other sisters. In the 60’s and 70’s there was an unwritten rule in some churches that women shouldn’t cut their hair but wear it in a topknot (pingstknut in swedish), the tighter the better. To get the right feel for this print we took pictures of timber in the Finnish countryside. These are the first prints of Sisaret and there is more to come! If you would like to carry one of these rare beauties, you find them at Supermarket or NDC.

Pajula woods in Västberga

We have been working in a bigger studio at Västberga industrial park for two weeks, where we tried out some new prints based on sketches from our sketchbooks and photos from the Finnish countryside. The two weeks flew by and now we have left with new prints in our screens and our sketchbooks filled with new ideas! The sun was shining and some of the days ended up with a refreshing swim. You can see pictures from the process at our Facebook-page and sooner or later the finished prints will show up here.

Monarchy in the USA

When Etsy was celebrating “Euro week” we thought it was time these t-shirts (printed just for fun some years ago) were made available. It’s more a play with words than a political statement (even though it was made when Bush was president). You might recognize the source of inspiration. We like the D.I.Y. attitude in punk. This creative explosion is celebrated during the weekend in Stockholm. In June there is another (royal) celebration. This is a t-shirt you could wear at both occasions.

Do you need some inspiration for a new training season? These totes are the result from our experimentation at the print workshop in Simrishamn some years ago. The overall was bought at the nearby fleamarket “Suckarnas gång”. Now you can find them at Supermarket.

This week we have printed some “Jussis” for the very young, bodies in two sizes 3-6 months and 6-12 months. You can find them on Supermarket, Etsy and the swedish shop Signerat.

juicy, Jussi!

Trycket Kotten2 har äntligen fått ett lite värdigare namn: Jussi! Vi får väl se om Jussi erövrar världen, det är nu i alla fall tekniskt möjligt via supermarket

Our print Kotten2 has finally received a bit more dignified name: Jussi!
and now you can find it at supermarket on T-shirts and tote bags.

JUL, JUL, JUL!

Tre Julmarknader blir det för Jollygoodfellow i år. Den första varar hela December på Designgalleriet där vår kalender är med, missade vernissagen men är du, precis som vi, nyfiken på hur det var? Här finns bilderna!

Nästa, Jul i gången (i Tellusgången vid Konstfack) sammanfaller även i år som av en händelse med Konstfacks julmarknad! 5-6 dec. Vi kommer att vara där på lördagen och har både kalendrar och screentryck att sälja.

Den tredje är helt ny och otroligt spännande! Färgfabrikens julmarknad, 12-13:e dec.

genvägar, senvägar, nya vägar

Just nu trycks det för fullt hos oss, superskoj! Men jag började fundera över möjliga genvägar, 200 tröjor med tryck + avsändartext = 400 tryck som ska tryckas och fixeras med strykjärn ett i sänder + 200 tags som ska tryckas och fästas. Beslöt oss för att trycka med färg man slipper fixera och att låta skrivaren fixa tagsen.

Men hoppsan vår kotte var visst alldeles för subtil för den tuffa färgen, screenramen vägrade släppa igenom färg i det finstilta. Och dessutom blev färgen till en trög yta på tröjan vilket inte alls passade i det här fallet, så det blir bara att plocka fram strykjärnet igen. Kotten har däremot fått sig en till kompis, kanske han dyker upp igen nån annan gång, ser inte så tokig ut när allt kommer omkring.
