ABÇ-plansch (poster)

For us it has been a lot of numbers in recent years, so now it’s time for some characters.

The inspiration for this print comes from our new hometown Malmö (in the southern part of Sweden). A city where about 50% of the population has other native languages than Swedish. The ABÇ-plansch, an extended abc-poster, is our way of celebrating the great variety of expressions and a chance for us to enjoy exiting graphic shapes.

The selection is based on form and we have focused on the Latin alphabet and languages found in Europe. After some research we had an overwhelming amount of characters, to get the abc-feeling we kept 26 at a large size and placed the rest in three lines at the bottom of the print.

We think this print fits in a kids room (since today’s gifted kids already know how to read before they start kindergarten 😉 or to anyone who enjoy a graphic look.

This is our version of the design classic. We call it Jussi.

Long Play

Which is your favorite record?
Here is a way to show the world which music inspires you.

The music gets new visual forms and become more and more  digital, but we like the tactile feeling of a gramophone record, to grab a cover and pull out a long play!

We see the print as a hybrid between two of our biggest sources of inspiration – music (LP) and nature (log). We call it simply Long Play.

Originally it was created as an alternative album cover for the delightful pop duo The Forest And The Trees and is now living its own life and has evolved into a kind of monotype. Every tote bag will be unique!

We screen print the “LP” without the title and when you decide which record title you want us to customize the bag with, we print the text using a custom-made template.

New pictures of an old friend

The fact is that “Kotten” is the first print we did together as a jollygoodfellow, we still like it and still print it. When we were going to make it available at supermarket we realized that we didn’t have that many pictures of the print on the right items (we changed supplier along the way). the scarves are gone

Well, now the scarves are all gone, thanks to Konstfack’s Christmas fair. We didn’t know how people would feel about them since the pattern is quite random, but both young and old liked them. Now we are inspired to continue the project.

re-use!

For a long time we have been thinking of how to re-use all the proof textiles. They are like a visual history of jollygoodfellow. Old and new prints side by side and on top of each other.  Now we have started to cut out squares, and we are thinking of having them as scarfs! And maybe we will add an extra print to some of them.
