Bird

“Bird” is a print based on a shadow figure on the wall. For us it’s a good reminder about that simple play can bring happiness. Actually the photo that we have processed and then used in the screen printing preparation, was taken a very long time ago. And now it have found the right form!

It is available in two sizes, the print is the same but there are more or less paper on the left and top. More info in the jollygoodshop!

On the fly

During the Stockholm Design Week 2019 we had an exhibition with hand-dyed fabrics/sound absorbers and paper craft at manos, our absolute favorit store/workshop in Stockholm run by ceramic designer, Karin Eriksson.

We have long thought about textiles in interior design, they have a great ability to soften and to dampen sound. In our home we like to have as much light as possible, so we skip curtains, instead we choose to hang the fabric on the wall.  Some years ago we started to experiment with natural dyeing, now we have combined it with screen printing. The theme for the first collection of textile prints is birds. The motif is based on our print “Flying V” but this time the flock is printed spontaneously over the textile, as the title of the exhibition hints. This makes all the prints unique.

The fabrics are dyed with: wine, acorn, black bean and hollyhock.

All the ceramics are made by Karin Eriksson, the potter with green fingers ; )

Jollygoodfellow at Ab Småland

Some years ago we discovered a new store in Malmö. We are not that much into shopping but this place was something more than a place for shopping. Inspiring settings, good coffee, exciting products with high environmental awareness, a place of activity and a place for rest. It’ s called Ab SMÅLAND, we have been back there many times, and now our prints are there all of December, it’s a big honor for us. And yes, they even let us screen print on the wall ; )

Long Play

Long Play (or logg play) is based on a photo of a log, reminding of a classic LP record (Long Play). The growth rings have become tracks. We love the opportunity of listening to music digitally and get access to music that we did not know existed. But it’s still something special with the act of grabbing a sleeve, picking up the vinyl record and playing it. The limitations of the format is also nice in these times of limitless access to all kind of entertainment.  The print are
available in the jollygoodshop, come and have a look!

Concrete Landscapes

We find a lot of inspiration both in the city and in the countryside. In a skatepark these two melt together as a  “man-made landscape”.

Lately we have worked with skateparks – concrete landscapes – in our home town Malmö, a city with a generous approach to skateboarding and which has hosted several international competitions.

When it comes to our screen prints we want to highlight the environment, the concrete landscape. The skaters might look at a skatepark from a functional perspective, how to tackle the area. We are more explorers and look at the area as a rolling landscape with interesting forms.

In addition to meeting you in person, one of the nice thing for us with #jollygoodlördag is to have a deadline to clean up the studio and re-arrange the wall : )

Akvarellmuseet

Maybe this could be our new family tradition. For the second year, we spent a February week at Akvarellmuseet in Skärhamn. One of those places in the archipelago that is crowded in the summer and very peaceful in the winter. A lot of time for exploring nature and aquarelle, what a delight!
